If you’ve been using facebook or any other other social networking site, you might have noticed that twitter is linked into some of those sites. Why would anyone want to be involved in more than one social networking site?

That’s a good question and to answer that one might want to look to the real world as a comparison. If you belong to any groups you do just that, you belong to multiple groups, where different people belong to those groups that you interact with. Whether it be your school group, sports group, church group, gardening group, etc. You belong to multiple groups.

Well, social networking sites are like that. You can belong to facebook, myspace, twitter, and any other social networking site you fee like joining. Now managing those sites can become tricky. You might need to carve out time on a daily basis just to keep up. Or you might decide that you only use facebook for family and friends, use myspace for music and use twitter for new friends, business, celebs and search.

Facebook

In my article TweetDeck: The Ultimate Twitter Client, I talked about facebook integration with TweetDeck and how it streams your facebook friends’ status messages in a column next to your twitter tweets. You can also post a message to facebook using TweetDeck. You do this by using the option of sending a tweet to your facebook status message stream as well as your twitter tweet stream. These are both check boxes to the right of your status message box in TweetDeck.

Well, if you go over to the facebook side of things, you’ll also find a twitter application that allows you to send tweets to your twitter feed from facebook. To find the application, look down in the lower left-hand corner of your facebook page. There, you’ll find an applications button and once you click it, you’ll either see your twitter application menu selection or you can use the “find more” menu selection to find the facebook twitter application.

After you login to twitter through facebook, you’ll be able to send tweets to your twitter stream and see a portion of your twitter stream on facebook.

FriendFeed

Another social networking site that I consider a central hub for all your social networking is friendfeed. Friendfeed allows you to not only get involved with their social network but also add a lot of other social networking sites that you might be using around the web. Let’s take a look at what friendfeed offers as far as linking the other networks to your central friendfeed page.

As you can see there are a bunch of social media sites that you can import into friendfeed if you belong to any of those site and use friendfeed as your central hub. Using friendfeed, you can send tweets to your twitter stream just like you can with facebook.

There are plenty more sites you can do this with that have a seamless integration to your twitter account.

Welcome to the first blog post on DailyTwiTips. DailyTwiTips is a site dedicated to all things Twitter. Here, you’ll find Twitter Tips, Twitter Tools, Twitter Tutorials, Twitter Applications and more…

If you don’t know what Twitter is, here’s how they describe it at their website:

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

While that description tells us what Twitter is and does, it has blown up to be quite a bit more.

Started in March 2006 as a side project, Twitter has evolved to produce other websites based around its service, fostered third-party applications to interact with it, a host of other services, news, information, support, links, social gatherings for events, and on and on.

We’ll be looking at all the stuff that surrounds Twitter here on DailyTwiTips.

If you’re new to Twitter, browse over to Twitter and create an account. It’s quick, easy and free.
